It is a scheme that uses funds of multiple users to pay back other users. As there is no sustainable monetary base or solid business foundation, pyramids sooner or later collapse. Especially when it becomes clear that a project is a pyramid scheme, as that is the moment that all investors pull out, causing the inevitable collapse.
