Jamaica Accords

In 1950, the U.S. balance of payments swung negative, followed by the resulting collapse of the Bretton Woods system of par values or fixed exchange rates which had existed since 1944. The Jamaica Accords were a set of international agreements that ratified the end of the Bretton Woods monetary system.
