Chainlink Crosses $15 Billion in Cross-Chain Migrations Following LayerZero Exploit

According to Chainlink's third-quarter review published on October 21, over $15 billion in tokenized value migrated to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) in 2026, driven by a $292 million LayerZero bridge exploit in April. The April 18 attack targeted KelpDAO, draining 116,500 rsETH and prompting exodus from multiple institutions citing LayerZero's verifier configuration concerns.

Cumulative cross-chain token value secured by CCIP reached above $85 billion. BitGo led migrations with over $7.7 billion in Wrapped Bitcoin, while Mantle moved $2.5 billion, KelpDAO transferred $1.5 billion in rsETH, and Lombard, Solv Protocol, Virtuals Protocol, and Kraken each moved $330 million to over $1 billion to CCIP, according to Chainlink's migration report and PrimeXBT.
