Binance CFO Kaiser Ng Steps Down, Justin Yek Appointed as Successor Nine Days After $6.3 Billion Hack

According to Binance, on November 7, Chief Financial Officer Kaiser Ng departed after more than five years, with former Airwallex executive Justin Yek appointed as his successor. The leadership change was announced by co-CEO Yi He, who stated Ng decided to pursue a new venture and that the transition had been planned for over six months, unrelated to the October 29 security breach that affected approximately $6.34 billion in cryptocurrency. Yek, who previously served as vice president of finance at Airwallex, brings experience from Morgan Stanley and Citi. Binance continues recovery efforts, having replenished 98% of affected assets using its own resources and expanded its proof-of-reserves snapshot to cover 44 cryptocurrencies.
