According to Tom's Hardware, Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari (D-Ariz.) called for an agenda to pause advanced AI development on November 4, one day after Democrats swept the U.S. midterm elections. Ansari said the "out of control" industry needs regulation and called for a ban on artificial superintelligence, stating on X that "top of the Democratic agenda on day 1 needs to be a pause on advanced AI development, regulation of this out of control industry, and a ban on artificial superintelligence."
