House Republicans Call for Nvidia CEO Huang to Brief Congress on Nov. 18 Over China Spy Link

According to CNBC, House Republican committee chairs sent a letter to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on Wednesday requesting a closed-door briefing with lawmakers on Nov. 18, following recent reports of his alleged relationship with Alice Huang, a Chinese citizen and intelligence operative working for China's Ministry of State Security.

The Trump administration received an intelligence memo last spring identifying Alice Huang as having been recruited by China's spy agency and revealing her connection to the Nvidia executive, The New York Times reported on Friday. Separately, the Times revealed that the Commerce Department approved Chinese firm New Matrix to assemble Nvidia chips in Beijing, prompting Republican Senator John Cornyn to call the authorization "outrageous." Democratic Senator Chris Coons vowed Congress would "investigate and get answers."
