According to price data, Nvidia gained 2.78% to $186.64 on Friday (Nov 7), recovering partially from Thursday's 9.3% plunge. AMD jumped 11.04% to $449.04 following a 17.3% collapse a day earlier. Both stocks remain well below October peaks, showing limited recovery from the broader selloff.
The turmoil extended to Asian markets. South Korea's KOSPI dropped 6% Friday, while Taiwan's benchmark fell more than 8% during the week—its worst week in months, with TSMC hitting its daily limit-down threshold. According to Reuters, Taiwanese officials asked state-owned banks to help support prices. The decline was fueled partly by U.S. midterm election results on Nov 3, where voters in 40 of 41 local contests favored limiting data-center development, raising concerns about chip demand.
