StepFun Launches STEPX Neo Smartphone with Embedded AI Agent at $560, Opens Sales Oct 16

According to ChainCatcher, StepFun launched the STEPX Neo smartphone on October 16, featuring an AI agent called Amoo embedded directly into its operating system rather than as a separate app. The device is priced at 3,999 yuan (approximately $560) and began pre-orders on October 13 across JD.com, Tmall, and Douyin.

The AI agent operates on the Step AOS 1 system, which was designed from the ground up to support agent functionality. Amoo can perform tasks autonomously—such as booking rides or payments—by understanding user intent without requiring app navigation. Nearly 100 companies and products, including Alipay, WeChat, Ctrip, Didi, and Meituan, have integrated with Amoo. The 12-month device purchase includes a STEPX Token plan providing 1 billion tokens monthly.
