Trump Says Military Action Against Iran "Extremely Unlikely" If Nuclear Talks Advance

According to CNN, on Sunday, U.S. President Trump said it would be "extremely unlikely" he would need to order military action against Iran if negotiations over the country's nuclear program and reopening the Strait of Hormuz make progress. Trump repeated this position five times during a CNN interview.

Trump stated such action depends on Iran signing "a very strong agreement." He cited Iran's deteriorating economic conditions, noting the country's inflation rate reached 301% based on recently published data, and added that military measures have already been taken against Iran.
