JPMorgan: Regulatory Actions Partially Offset Clarity Act Setback, But Political & Legal Risks Remain

According to JPMorgan analysts led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou in a report released on Wednesday, recent U.S. regulatory measures are partially offsetting the negative impact of the Senate's failure to advance the Clarity Act, but political and legal risk premiums will persist until a comprehensive cryptoasset regulatory framework is enacted. While regulatory-led initiatives may encourage institutional participation in the near term, only legislation can establish a durable regulatory framework. If Democrats win the White House, existing regulatory measures could potentially be reversed within two years. The Clarity Act is unlikely to pass this year and may be reintroduced in 2027.
