According to a White House official, Patrick Witt's tenure as executive director of the President's Council of Advisors for Digital Assets ended on October 14, 2026, leaving the council without publicly identified staff.
Witt's departure follows exits by deputy director Harry Jung in July and adviser David Sacks in March. Council leader Bo Hines had previously departed in August 2025. The staffing vacuum comes as the Trump administration's flagship cryptocurrency legislation faces stalling: the Senate voted 49-50 against advancing the CLARITY Act on September 15, falling short of the 60 votes required.
