This guide explains how spot trading fees are determined and calculated on Gate TR. It includes VIP level-based fee rates, example calculations, and how to view fees via the app and website.
VIP Levels and Fee Rates
Gate TR uses a tiered fee structure for spot trading, ranging from VIP0 to VIP16. Each level has different maker and taker fee rates.

Note: Fee rates may vary depending on market conditions. Always check the official website for the most up-to-date information.
Maker vs. Taker Fees
- Maker Fee: Charged when you place an order that adds liquidity to the order book (i.e., a limit order that waits to be matched).
- Taker Fee: Charged when you place an order that matches an existing order in the book immediately.
How to Calculate Trading Fees
Step 1: Calculate the Transaction Value
- Buy Order: Purchase price × quantity
- Sell Order: Sale price × quantity
Step 2: Determine Your Fee Rate
Use the maker or taker rate according to your VIP level.
Step 3: Calculate the Fee
Transaction Value × Fee Rate
Example:
- A VIP0 user wants to buy 2 ETH at 2000 USDT each
- Transaction Value: 2000 × 2 = 4000 USDT
- Fee Rate: 0.2%
- Trading Fee: 4000 × 0.002 = 8 USDT
How to View Trading Fees
Mobile App:
- Log into your account
- Go to Assets → Transaction History
- Use filters like Spot / Deposit & Withdrawal / Others to view fees
- Alternatively, check Order History in the Spot Orders page to see fee details per trade
Web:
- Log in at https://www.gate.tr
- Go to Assets → Transaction History → Select coin via Unified Account to view details
- In the Spot → Transaction History tab, monitor your trading fees
How to Reduce Trading Fees
- I ncrease Your VIP Level: Boost your trading volume or total account value to access lower rates.
- Watch for Official Campaigns: Follow Gate TR announcements to benefit from fee discounts.
